NASA Kids
Kids who love outer space will love this site.
Grades: K-2, 3-5, 6-8
NASA Kids is a site developed at Marshall Space Flight Center to provide online and printable information on space exploration and astronomy to children ages 5-14. Although some sections of the site appear not to be up-to-date, most of the site offers fun and valuable resources for the designated age group. 04/30/03

Alphabet Soup
Early childhood site with lots to offer.
Grades: Pre-K-2, Professional
Alphabet Soup offers a variety of useful ideas and activities for teachers and parents of young children. Thematic units, holiday ideas, games, and activities are available here. The site also offers ideas for teaching each letter of the alphabet. 04/29/03

For parents and educators of gifted students with special needs.

Uniquely Gifted is a collection of resources for families with gifted/special needs children and the professionals who work with them. The site includes annotated lists of resources in many areas -- specific special needs, Special Education law, IEPs, support groups and much more. 04/28/03

Beverly Cleary is the author of award-winning books for elementary students. This site offers information about her, excerpts from her books, profiles of her many intriguing characters and some fun activities for kids. 04/25/03

New Horizons for Learning is an organization that serves as a resource for educational change. The Website contains its quarterly online journal, collections of articles and lists of related resources. 04/24/03

An online grab-bag from the UK for "under-10s."

An online swap-shop of teacher ideas and resources.

Info on the 50 states all in one place!

50States.com contains lots of information and useful facts about each of the fifty United States. In addition to links to state homepages, each state's information includes maps, weather, lists of colleges, city guides, tax forms, newspapers, and more. 04/21/03

Robust, rich site for teachers.

Gigglepotz is a site filled with resources for teachers and students at all levels. It includes hotlists of resources by subject area, forum areas for teacher communication, links to school sites around the world, and links to classes interested in using video-conferencing, email, or snail mail to share cultures and traditions. 04/18/03

Kids Next Door is HUD's site for children -- "where kids can learn more about being good citizens." The site provides information and activities geared toward teaching kids about communities and how they work. 04/14/03

BAM! Body And Mind
The CDC's answers to kids' questions about health and safety.
Grades: 6-8, 9-12
BAM! is a site designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It offers information and answers to kids' questions about health and safety and activities that can be used to supplement educational curriculums in these areas. 04/11/03

Searchable database of reviews of educational materials.

The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) provides this "searchable database that contains more than 7000 reviews of instructional materials," including computer software, audio/visual materials, CD-ROM-based reference databases, websites, and print materials. 04/10/03

High-tech, commercial-free site from Nickelodeon for primary-grade kids.
Grades: PreK-2
Noggin.com is the companion site to Noggin TV, which is Nickelodeon's "commercial-free TV for pre-schoolers" channel. Activities and games are targeted at this preschool audience and have been developed with specific learning goals in mind. 04/08/03

FirstGov for Kids is a web portal to government websites for kids. In addition to the government sites, links are available to organization and commercial pages in each of the twenty categories. 04/07/03

Conflict resolution for kids.

A Guide to Getting Along offers online exercises dealing with conflict resolution. The teachers guide offers lesson plans and activities to supplement and enhance the online resources. 04/04/03

Section of museum site dedicated to an exhibit of Leonardo's drawings.

Created by Metropolitan Museum of Art, this site features the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci and compliments the actual exhibit. It is a great resource for art teachers and students.04/01/03
