REVIEW:
EvaluTech is a valuable resource for anyone responsible for purchasing
instructional materials at the district, school, or classroom level.
It is a free service that boasts a database of more than seven thousand
reviewed and recommended materials, including computer software, CD-ROMs,
videos, and books. Teaching materials in all of the subject areas
for grades pre-K through 12 are included as well as some professional
resources for teachers. Each review includes title, publisher or producer,
grade level, and copyright date, in addition to the detailed review
of the content. To be listed on the site all materials must meet all
the stringent evaluation criteria and be recommended by the reviewer.
The evaluation criteria can be viewed at the site and links to other
evaluation sites are provided. The site promises to have the resources
in their database correlated to state student academic standards within
the year. |
