Grade Level: Pre-K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, Advanced, Professional

Created by Metropolitan Museum of Art, this site features the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci and complements the actual exhibit. It is a great resource for art teachers and students.
The site is attractive and user friendly. There is a printer friendly version available for selected pages and images are enabled with zoom technology. Real Player is required for the audio clips.
The features of the exhibit are organized into an index that can be accessed when you enter the site.
The resources for this site are taken from the museum's exhibition catalog. Visitors will want to begin with the introductory essay about the artist and the exhibit. The Gallery Highlights feature the drawings of da Vinci, whose style and technique can be examined closely by clicking on the images in order to zoom in on the drawings. Visitors to the site will also find a discussion of the artist's left-handedness, a catalogue excerpt, and images from the exhibition, a chronology of Leonardo's life and work, masterpieces from the collection on display in the exhibition, and can listen to clips from the exhibition's audio guide. Included are a bibliography and a checklist of the works on view. This is a great resource for art teachers and students who wish to learn more about one of the most well know artists of all time.
