Lesson Plan

Discuss the meaning of the term time line. Show students examples of time lines from school texts, library books, or online sources.

Divide the class into small groups. Have students create time lines about aspects of Asian American history. Students might use library sources or these suggested Web sites:

Have students create Asian American history time lines using only library sources.

Have each group develop a time line about Asian American history for a specific time period. Let groups create their time lines on large sheets of construction paper. Have students arrange the completed time lines in chronological order as a wall chart or hall display.
