What advice would you give to a new or struggling teacher?
Do a lot of self-reflection. Remember your strengths and those of your students and work to enhance them.

What’s the nicest thing a student or colleague has ever done to help you?
When a student comes in early from recess and asks if there's anything they can do to help out in the classroom!

If you weren't a teacher, what would you be doing?
Working in my community through scouting, 4-H and church to mentor young people.

What is the most challenging part of teaching?
Classroom management

My best day in the classroom was when…
We were doing a project based learning block--it was in science and the students were working in small groups making a lunar landing module with paper platters, straws, mini-marshmallows, and other odds and ends. The goal was who could drop theirs from the highest spot and have it land properly on the floor.

Something that always gives me a good belly laugh is...
One of my students telling me a joke, especially if they don't understand the sarcasm!

What was the last non-academic book you've read?
The Pact. Three young men make a promise and fulfill a dream 

What television show are most embarassed about loving?
"American Idol"

What’s your secret snack indulgence?
Kettle-style popcorn. I love the combination of sweet and salty!
