Site Review: K5 Learning

Share

Site URL: k5learning.com

Content:  K5 Learning is an online after-school study program for kids in kindergarten to grade 5. Watch your children master reading and math as they work at their own level and their own pace through a personalized program of over 3,000 interactive multimedia tutorials and activities. The emphasis is on reading, math and study skills.

Design:  The majority of the site is targeted at kids, and the design reflects that. With plenty of cartoonish animated children running around the site, it’s clear that K5 knows its audience and caters to it.

The navigation is all pretty intuitive and easy to use. There are no cluttered areas, and everything has a clean, logical flow to it.

Review: The lessons offered here are good, although they are subscription-based and therefore not free. The lessons are certainly worth the money, although if visitors have more than one child using the program, it can get pricey pretty quickly.

The ability for kids to work at their own pace, and the fact that lessons can be individualized for each student, are big pluses. An added bonus is the area of K5 that specializes in school fundraising.

Bottom Line: If you can swing the subscription fee, K5 Learning is worth it.
