One Thing or Another
by Elizabeth Scheibl

Elizabeth Scheibl is working toward National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist.

November 10, 2003

My students are working hard on finishing one of the writing prompts needed for entry number one. I've chosen the two students I'll focus on, and have written two of the four components for this entry.

I tried videotaping again and things went much better this time. I also found out that it was my friend's class, the one I meet with about this certification process, that had the emergency during my last taping -- and she knew I was taping that afternoon. The verdict is still out on whether I'll forgive her! All in all, I think I got a better video the third time around. I'm beginning to write the background piece for this entry and later I'll view the video to find the best 15 minutes.

I feel good about my work so far, but I continue to worry about getting it all finished. I've been away from my class for so many meetings and workshops during the last few weeks that I'm feeling added stress about getting my students prepared for the state assessment. If its not one thing its another. I can't win!
