Social Studies

First Gov for Kids
Education World reviewed this site in April of 2003. This election season is a good time to go there for info about your government!

Future State
This "A+" site is also from the U.S. government – this one from the State Department. That's the part of our government that deals with the other nations of the world.

TeenGOV
A site aimed at teens that includes quick introductions to the three branches of the federal government and uses New York State as a specific example of state-level government.

Science

The Exploratorium
This is a site we review and re-review, because The Exploratorium is one of the original "hands-on" science museums for kids. This site is amazing! Check it out!

Science News for Kids
Here's a site we reviewed in September 2003. It's a great one if your homework or project is in science, and, since it's based on a magazine, it's always got new stuff!

UN Atlas of the Oceans
Three quarters of the planet is covered in water, and this "A+" site from the United Nations sure enough covers the oceans!

Language Arts

Merriam-Webster Online
The online version of this famous dictionary and thesaurus got a big "A+" from Education World in 1999, and it's still a great bookmark for your homework help!

Revise Wise
Back in March 2004, we found this site from England. You have to watch out because British spelling is sometimes different from American, but it's definitely an "A" site!

Teen Reads
Here's a site for you if you're into books (or have a project like a book report to do). We gave this site an "A" back in February 2004.

Math

Math in Daily Life
Okay, it's easy to see how elementary math is needed in "real life," but this site helps you see how high school math is useful, too!

Math Stories
Need more help to get the hang of word problems? This site is a great one for practicing those skills! (And they added and subtracted happily ever after!)

Web Math
You want a really awesome homework help site for math? Get ready to put this site at the top of your "favorites" list! You pick the topic, you run the problem, you get the answer and an explanation! What are you waiting for???

Other Stuff

Care for Animals
Okay, maybe you don't have a homework assignment about pets – although you might like animals enough to write about them if you get a chance! Here's a site from the American Veterinary Medical Association that Education World gave an "A" in June 2002. Enjoy!

Festivals.com -- Kids!
Here's a site that's all about the many, many festivals and celebrations that take place all around the world. A great way to look at the world's many cultures!

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum
It's playoff time, and this is the official site of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Lots of facts, stats, and just maybe a topic your teacher might let you do a report on!
