Five Writing Prompts for the Month of January

Ease students into the continuation of the school year with writing exercises. When students can practice their writing skills while expressing how they are feeling.
Education World has gathered a list of five writing prompts teachers can use in their classrooms for the month of January.
- Make Your Dreams Come True Day: January 13 is "Make Your Dreams Come True Day", and this writing prompt from TeachersCorner asks students to write about their dreams for the future and how they will make them come true.
- Let it Snow!: In this writing prompt from Education World, students are asked to describe snow to someone who has never seen snow before.
- Grimm's Fairy Tales: January 4 is Jacob Grimm's birthday. Gimm is best known as the co-creator of the Grimm's Fairy Tales. This prompt from TeachersCorner asks students to write about which two fairy tales they would like to see be combined. Students can also create a writing plan or if there's enough time, write the entire story.
- Going for the Goal: In this writing prompt, students are asked what goal they would like to accomplish this year, and what change they could make for themselves.
- Work Harder Day: January 12 is Work Harder Day, and students are asked to write about ways that they can work harder.
