Ten Resources for Celebrating the 100th Day of School 

As the days continue to fly by, teachers will start to gather resources to celebrate the 100th Day of School with their students. 

Education World has gathered ten awesome resources for teachers to use in their classroom to help children use their math skills and recognize how far they've come in the school year.

  1. Jojo's Circus: 100 Days and Counting: Join Jojo and her pet lion, Goliath as they celebrate their 100th day of school with their classmates. 

  1. Celebrate the 100th Day in 100 Ways: Provided by Education World, teachers can find 100 activities students can participate in to celebrate their 100th day of school. Here are a few examples: 
  • Have kids complete this sentence: "I wish I had 100 ____ because ______."
  • Ask kids to finish this sentence: "One hundred years from now..."
  • With your students, send a postcard to a school in some or all of the cities that are 100 miles away from yours. 
  1. The Night Before the 100th Day of School by Natasha Wing: In this book, Amazon says, "the 100th day of school is almost here and one student is desperate to find 100 of anything to bring to class. Then all of sudden inspiration strikes, and he comes up with a surprise that makes the 100th day celebration one to remember! This hilarious story of a popular school tradition offers a perfect modern twist on Clement C. Moore’s classic poem."
  2. Celebrate the 100th Day of School: Provided by Education World, teachers have access to worksheets and activities students can participate in to celebrate the 100th day of school. 
  3. Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of Kindergarten by Joseph Slate: Amazon says: "Miss Bindergarten, the world's best kindergarten teacher, is getting ready for another milestone. Tomorrow she and her class will have been together for 100 days. To celebrate, each student must bring "100 of some wonderful, one-hundred-full thing!" At night, while the students go to work assembling their projects, Miss Bindergarten is working, too, making special surprises for the class."
  4. Celebrate the 100th Day of School: Education World offers more lesson plans and activities for the 100th Day of School. Here are a few examples:
  • Have a beanbag toss. Who can count to 100 first?
  • Have student research animals that migrate farther than 100 miles
  • Ask each student to finish the sentence, "If I've told you once, I've told you 100 times."
  1. 100 Days of School by Trudy Harris: In 100 Days of School, Amazon says, "A series of rhymes illustrates different ways to count to 100 such as by adding the ten toes of ten children or ninety-nine train cars plus one caboose."
  2. A Poem for the 100th Day of School: Provided by Education World teachers and students can read the following poem: 

"100 days of school!

I've learned a lot so far.

Sorting, counting, adding,

The sun's a big, hot star.

 

Learning letters and their sounds,

Many new words to know,

We're all busy learners --

Stay 'round and watch us grow!"

  1. Fancy Nancy:  The 100th Day of School by Jane O'Connor: Amazon says, "The 100th day of school is coming up, and Nancy doesn’t know what to bring in for the class project. Will she be able to think of something imaginative in time for the big day?"
  2. 100 Days Smarter: In this worksheet provided by TeachersPayTeachers, teachers will be able to sing a song about the 100th Day of School with their students. The song is sung to the tune of Yankee Doodle.
