Read Across America Day Websites and Resources

March 2, people around the nation will celebrate Read Across America Day, also known as Dr. Seuss's birthday. On Read Across America Day, teachers will encourage their students to sit down and take some time from the busy digital age to read. 

Education World has gathered a list of resources and websites teachers can use to find lesson plans, activities, and other information about Dr. Seuss and Read Across America Day. 

  1. National Education Association's Read Across America: This site has information about how schools can foster reading motivation and reading awareness throughout the school year. It also offers tips on how to plan a reading event, reading event ideas, and more. 
  2. Seussville.com: This website has a number of classroom resources including printables and activities, lesson plans, learning library, books, projects, events, and more. Teachers can access an endless amount of resources to teach their students about Dr. Seuss and use for Read Across America Day.
