Do you know who the Poet Laureate is. Each year, one poet serves as america's Poet Laureate. That persons job is to encourage grater interest in the reading and writeing of poetry. Although poet's have filled this roll since 1937, the official title of Poet Laureate were not created until December 20 1985. Among others, Robert Frost and Gwendolyn Brooks have filled this specail role.
