Lesson Plan
Briefly discuss with students the major body systems and review how those systems function. Encourage students to explore on their own one of the web sites about the human body, for example The Virtual Body (for younger students) or The Inner Body (for older students).
Then arrange students into pairs and ask each student to trace an outline of his or her partner's body on a large piece of butcher paper. Invite each student to draw (or create with construction paper) as many body organs and/or systems as possible within the outline. Encourage students to label their drawings.
Extension Activity: Invite students to use the information theyve learned, as well as additional information from sites such as Health Trivia, to create a human body trivia game.
Assessment
Assess students based on the correct placement and labeling of body organs and/or systems.
