Invite local business owners into the classroom to help students see the correlation between achievement in school and success in the workplace. Encourage the visitors to offer specific information about what skills they are looking for and what they pay for a variety of positions. Supplement the information with real-life facts about minimum-wage jobs, salaries, and buying power.
