Change your strategies! If you usually conduct class discussions about a book or view a science filmstrip, try something different instead -- something totally unique. If the new strategy involves technology, even better -- it will grab their attention. For example, instead of a class discussion about a book, try creating a blog about the book and let students add their comments and discuss it online. Orhow about creating a podcast of a review of the book?
Students love to share with others their thoughts and feelings regarding world events. Blogging and podcasting are new technologies that students also love. Fitting learning into their lifestyle is a great motivating factor for kids.
