A School Year
In Words & Pictures

  • Take photos during class events all year long and display them at the end of the school year on a hallway bulletin board or in a slide show.
  • Request from parents a disposable camera for each child. Record important school events and activities throughout the year by capturing individual students on film.
  • Ask students to write about their favorite things early in the school year and then again near the end of the year. Have them compare their writings.
  • Have students take turns writing descriptions of holiday celebrations or other class events and activities. Keep the collection of compositions in a binder. At the end of the year, copy the pages in the binder as a "yearbook" for students. Allow students to design their own covers.
