Want to encourage your class everyone in your class -- to do homework assignments? Spell it out! For every day that all of your students complete their homework assignments, write a letter of the word H-O-M-E-W-O-R-K on the board. When the entire word appears, share a reward with the whole class. Treats could take the form of a cookie or candy, an eraser or bookmark, free time for quiet games or socializing, extra recess, or any other special activity that your students enjoy.
Alternate idea: Instead of writing the word on the board, you might staple cut-out letters to a bulletin board.
