Model Monday

Monday is a good time to read and review classroom rules. It also is a good time to model classroom rules and expectations. Each Monday you might talk during class-meeting time about a different situation that students might encounter. Let students to the modeling of behaviors that might be expected when

  • working as a group.
  • re-arranging desks for a group activity.
  • seeing a student who appears to be all alone, left out.
  • organizing a backpack to go home.
  • seeing a classmate who is breaking a class rule.
  • sitting next to some people you do not know well.
  • entering the classroom if you are late.
  • entering another teachers classroom.
  • requesting a break or hall pass.
  • needing to sharpen a pencil.
  • walking in line in school hallways.
  • holding the door as you walk down the hall.
  • feeling frustrated because you dont know how to do something.
  • holding a friendly two-way conversation.
  • greeting visitors in a friendly way.
  • raising hands to answer a question.
