Do you have a classroom Web page? Invite students to help write and post the news of the day!
At the end of each day, gather students in front of a computer attached to a projector or TV monitor, and open your classroom Web page. Discuss with students the events of the day. As each event is discussed, invite individual students to provide a single sentence about that event. Type each sentence onto the computer in a special section of the Web page you've reserved for daily news. (Older students might take turns typing the sentences themselves.) Complete the day's news report with a final sentence summing up the day. ("We had a super fantastic wonderful day.") Add a headline. Edit and save.
