What advice would you give to a new or struggling teacher?
Don't be a Lone Ranger. Teaching can be isolating if you let it. Establish a support group. Ask questions, don't re-invent the wheel. Just because you are in a classroom doesn't mean that you should reproduce that isolation outside the classroom.
What’s the nicest thing a student or colleague has ever done to help you?
I love a smile. It is so simple but it can make a change in your day.
If you weren't a teacher, what would you be doing?
My first college degree was in Interior Design. I would be in New York City and in my own design studio.
What is the most challenging part of teaching?
Getting teachers to see the easy that technology can give them.
My best day in the classroom was when…
I saw the light in the students' eyes when they understood the concept I was teaching. I almost cried.
What’s your secret snack indulgence?
Always chocolate.
What TV show are you most embarrassed about loving?
"The Girls Next Door."
What was the last (non-academic) book you've read?
"Alex Cross," by James Patterson.
