Christmas is right around the corner, and there are plenty of ways to bring the holiday cheer into the classroom. Education World has curated a list of resources and lesson plans teachers can use in the classroom for Christmas time.
With this activity, students will be able to make three-dimensional snowflakes with magnets. Students can wrap the magnets at presents for family members and friends.
Teachers can have access to a number of different poems focusing on the family and loved ones rather than the material aspects that the holiday has become.
Snowman Picture Christmas Ornament:
This is another craft teachers can use in the classroom for students to give to their parents for Christmas.
The 12 Days of Christmas: How Much Does True Love Costs These Days?:
By the end of the class, Teach-nology says, "By the end of this class students will be able to that information from a chart and determine the relationship that the number have. Computational skills will also be used to determine the costs of items."
Writing Letters to the Three Wise Men:
The lesson plan, provided by LessonPlansPage.com, is separated into two stages:
Stage One: "Students read the three letters and make a list of what the children want from the three wise men. Explain that the wise men have all the children’s records on computer so that they have access to the information that tells them whether or not they have been good."
Stage Two: "Give them a copy of the records. Students read them and then write the complete sentences, putting them into the past tense. They then decide in groups whether each point is good, bad or neither. Eventually they reach a decision as to whether the children deserve the presents or not. This can be discussed by the whole class."
