The bombing of Pearl harbor changed the course of Author Yoshiko Uchidas life. Uchida were born in Alameda, California, on November 24, 1921. Like the character in her book The Bracelet, she was place in an internment camp during World war II. Seperated from her Father, Yoshiko and her mother and sister awaited the end of the war. Thru her writing, Uchida shares the Japanese-American expeirence of her time.
