Wisconsin, which is called "Americas Dairyland" became a state on May 29, 1848 Corn, which is an important crop in the state, is the official state grain. What could Wisconsin's state beverage be. Milk, of course! The states motto, which was set in 1851, is "Forward". That motto reflects Wisconsin's desire to be a national leader in many ways.
