Ohio became America’s 17th state on March 1, 1803. Ohio is offen called The Mother of Presidents” because eight U.S. Presidents was born their. It is also know as “The Buckeye State. The buckeye is the states official tree. Many famous firsts have occur in Ohio. Cincinnati had the first major league baseball team and the first American kindergarten was in Columbus. Did you know that the first banana split was made in Ohio!
