Arts Group Launches Web Site for Teachers

Arizona’s 52,000 K-12 teachers are receiving a free, new resource which will allow them to bring arts integration to each of their students, helping them succeed in all academic areas, including STEM subjects and Common Core curriculum.

Arts Integration Solutions (AiS) announced that it has launched its free, Web resource portal AiTeachers.com, one of the first of its kind.

Thanks to a generous donation from JP Morgan Chase, AiTeachers.com is a free resource that will bring the classroom practice of arts integration to any teacher who has access to the Internet. AiTeachers.com will guide any teacher from foundational arts integration theory, to lesson planning and strategy development, to implementation of arts integration in any classroom, for any subject, any time.

As a companion to the Web portal, AiS is also publishing the 2013 Arts Integration Handbook, which will be made available for purchase.

“AiTeachers.com is designed to give classroom teachers the tools to evolve their respective practices of arts integration, with or without the resource of teaching artists. Currently this does not exist. Furthermore, there is no central location for classroom teachers to connect, stay updated and receive tools for the latest trends in arts integration, education and policy,” said AiS Program Director Rick Wamer. “As a continually growing hub of resources, tutorials, lesson plans, and other teacher tools, this portal is designed to be just that, and we are excited to provide this.”

“Our mission is to help teachers use the arts in their classroom to help their students succeed in math, science and literacy. AiTeachers.com makes our services tangible to all teachers, anytime and anywhere,” added AiS Education Services Director Sara Stewart.
