Use a classic game to take the drudgery out of homework. Distribute BINGO cards to your students. When homework is due, call out a letter and number combination. If the student completed the homework assignment and that number appears on his or her card, initial or stamp the student's card. The first student(s) who marks all squares in a row receives a small prize. You might set up the game so that other students can hold their cards until they get a BINGO. They can turn in that BINGO card in place of any upcoming homework assignment.
As an alternative to BINGO, try Teachnet's Homeworkopoly, which is based on the popular board game Monopoly and can serve as an incentive to doing homework throughout the school year.
