What does it promise? BandBlast promises a free way to keep music alive in the classroom. Music programs nationwide have become the first targets in terms of budget cuts. This app is trying to keep music in the classroom and foster another mode of learning. It’s also promising an interactive, fun and engaging app that students can learn from. The app recently received backing from the Pasadena Arts Council as they have deemed it as one very useful app.

Does it deliver? Yes. BandBlast delivers in a grand fashion. Visually the app is incredibly appealing. It has bright colors and fun photos and characters. It’s also very easy to navigate and very light on the advertisements. Educationally, students will be able to learn about rhythm and pitch. They can eve record their own tune using the in app capabilities as long as access to the microphone on your device is approved. You can sing along to the track and adjust the drums, as well as the instruments you want to use. It not only keeps music alive in the classroom but it fosters creativity and individuality. In an age where music is becoming a thing of the past for many schools, BandBlast helps keep it alive.

Can I use it in the classroom? Yes. This app can be used in the classroom. Teachers can conserve classroom time for a creative block where students can take a break for harsher subjects. They can allow the students to record their own songs and play it aloud for the classmates. While they make their own music they can also learn key principles of music like rhythm and pitch.

“Whether you are a professional musician or not, the benefits of having access to music education and playing an instrument are enormous,” said musician Brandon Bernstein, according to a recent press release.
