Domino Math
Subject: Math, Special Ed.
Grade: 3-5

Brief Description

By making dominoes with different combinations of addition and multiplication problems, students will use a familiar game to learn math skills. Students will build skills in math by matching the answers.

Objectives

Skill building in math by matching answers.
Example: 10x2=20 and 5x4=20 or 6x2=12 and 3x4=12 or 5+3=8 and 4+4=8

Keywords

(See examples in objectives/goals)
Teaching and practice of simple math skills.

Materials Needed

Cut stiff paper to the same size as regular dominoes. Put problems with their answers on each.

Lesson Plan

I think Math practice becomes boring to most children. This made a great "game" and learning tool at the same time. Most children know the basic concept of the regular game of dominoes.

Assessment

You can use a time period (for example, 2 minutes) to see how many correct matches have been made.
