Overview: Students learn about New Year's celebrations in various countries around the world. Pairs of students select a country and research how people in that country celebrate the New Year. Then, team members assume the role of travel agents and use their research to develop a presentation that will encourage travelers to visit the country during the New Year's celebration. Teams are encouraged to include a variety of features -- such as music, costumes, and charts -- in their presentations to make them as lively and informative as possible. Teams present their final projects to the class.
