Content:  Reading Comprehension Booster is designed to help students practice reading comprehension strategies.

Design: The program itself clean and simple, which is advantageous. Students aren’t distracted or directed away from the material by a loud design or annoying ads.

Review: The program models the comprehension process for readers—that is, they receive personal help and feedback when they run into troublesome areas. Teachers and students can track time-on-task and assess improvement with an easy-to-use reporting system.

Learning is reinforced through context clues and multiple activities. High-interest non-fiction and fiction readings are used to engage students of all ages. Additionally, the program contains 120 passages of escalating difficulty so that students don’t plateau.

The online version of the Reading Comprehension Booster works with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari browsers, as well as Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. One full year’s access to a single edition of Reading Comprehension Booster costs $27, but classroom and school district licenses are available.

Bottom Line:  It comes with a price, but this is one reading tool that’s worth it.
