Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy Tab 4 for the K-12 market. The tablet is student-friendly, integrating Google Play for Education, an initiative including teacher-approved apps, books, videos and personalized teaching.
The tablet can be managed by school IT departments via a Web-based console, sold by Google for $30 per device for school districts, according to Top Tech News.
The Tab 4 has near-filed communications technology, which aids the user in quick setup. It will also be available with a coming version of Samsung School, a management solution.
The product is priced at $370, according to Tech Target. The Tab 4 also has a 10.1 inch Gorilla Glass Display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. It features 16GB of built-in storage and is expandable by up to 64GB or more with a SD card.
"Students can do more at once with Samsung's MultiWindow feature that allows users to have two apps open side-by-side," said the article.
Verizon has also recently picked up the new device, said Tech Times.
"The tablets were designed to be thin, light and affortable," the article said. "Samsung tries to make a tablet for everyone, and it looks like Verizon Wireless will soon offer the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 LTE and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 LTE."
