Fundraiser Review: GoodThrift

URL:  www.goodthrift.com

What is sold:  GoodThrift does not sell anything--rather, it collects used or unwanted clothes, household items, toys and bikes for re-use and recycling.

About the program:  GoodThrift's partnership program can be used by PTAs, PTOs, schools, scout troops, booster cubs, sports teams and more. The program is committed to helping these groups raise funds in an Earth-friendly way, with no cost to the customer. For schools, GoodThrift helps them organize and advertise their drive and provides a check based on the final weight of the collected clothing or items. GoodThrift will design a full-color, customized flyer for the drive, as well as a black-and-white flyer for distribution to students, parents and staff.

Support available for schools:  Along with helping organize and advertise the school's drive, GoodThrift offers aid in packing the trucks. There is a service fee with a minimum pound/bag requirement, depending on location.

Bottom line:  A GoodThrift fundraiser can bring the community together in an eco-friendly way. With the opportunity to get rid of unwanted clothing and household items, family participation is likely to be good.
