Six Fall Recipes for the Classroom

Autumn is here, and there's no better way to bring the new season than cooking and baking with students. From spooky Halloween treats to Thanksgiving snacks, there are plenty of fun and easy-to-make recipes for teachers to make with their students.

Here are five simple fall recipes to make in the classroom:

  1. Pumpkin Pie in a Cup: Provided by pre-kpages, this treat requires very little oven time, only to make the pudding. While teachers can make the pudding, students can crush graham crackers, and get ready to assemble the cups. When the snack is assembled, the class will have their own individual pumpkin pie cups.
  2. Nutter Butter Pilgrim: With the help of Nutter Butters, pretzel sticks, candy eyes, candy corn, and melting chips, students can make their own customized pilgrims for Thanksgiving. The recipe requires no oven or stovetop, so it is a quick and easy snack.
  3. Oreo Spiders: Grab some oreos and stick some pretzel sticks in the middle. Then, use frosting to stick M&Ms on the top for spider eyes. This is a simple fun treat for students and fun for around Halloween time.
  4. Fall Snack Mix: This easy-to-make treat can be a fun activity as students collect Rice Chex, pretzels, Bugles, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, Reese's pieces, candy corn pumpkins, and candy corn. This recipe, however, needs an oven to combine the brown sugar and cinnamon to the cereal mixture.
  5. Mini Caramel Apples: These mini caramel apples will be a hit in the classroom. With the help of  a stovetop and some butterscotch chips, students can create and dip their own apples.
