Seven Resources, Lesson Plans for Women's History Month
March is Women's History Month, an entire month dedicated to celebrating famous economic, academic, political and social contributions made by women in the past and present.
Education World has you covered when it comes to finding resources to use in the classroom. Here is a list of seven resources filled with information, biographies, lesson plans, and more for educators to use during Women's History Month:
- WomensHistoryMonth.gov: This website has an archive of exhibits and collections for teachers to use in the classroom, including an interactive 3D models of Amelia Earhart's leather suit that she wore during her first trans-Atlantic flight in 1932. The site also has an entire page dedicated to teachers including background information, documents, and videos.
- Biographies of Notable Women: Teachers can grab a list of extensive biographies of women from all different areas including actresses, athletes, media figures, saints and sinners, women in U.S. government, and world leaders.
- Time For Kids: Time for Kids offers free printables about celebrating women's history, women's history milestones, a list of ten powerful women, photos, activities, and more.
- History.com: This article looks at some of the "firsts" in women's history, including the first women's rights convention, the first state women were allowed to vote, the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize, and more. There are also videos about women and audio about women's history.

- Biographies of Women: Teachers can access an ever-expanding list of women in alphabetical order.
