The upcoming BIG Games in Sochi,Russia! Resource materials you may find of value

Your students may soon be following the competition that begins this February in Sochi,Russia. I especially like the skiing events. Learn about the history of the games, both past and present, which originated in Greece, with my informative webquest. There are 10 questions(each with lots of informative text) as well a number of fun facts. Extension activities are also included(and the key). The webquest can be completed in one class period and is geared for upper elementary and middle school students. Can be used before a vacation, for a Friday activity, when you have need of a substitute or if you are studying the ancient Greeks.

NOTE: I have revised this produce to reframe from using the word, "olympics" , as I was told the term is trademarked.

The international competition in Sochi, Russia, is a great time to introduce your students to the country of Russia! My webquest contains11 questions, with lots of informative text, that will enable young people to learn lots of information about the country of Russia. Additionally, there are some questions about the 2014 games. Lots of extension activities and resource links are also incluced as is the key. The webquest can be used as a class lesson.
