Time: The Real Currency of Teachers

Time: The Real Currency of Teachers
Time is either our best friend or our nagging older sibling! Time is an educators currency and it requires that we harness it through- determination (save time)~ imagination (invent time)~ and collaboration (invest time). Let's examine the essentials of these ideals for first year years.
1. We need you to maintain your compassion for teaching! Manage your time!
2. We need you as our partners! Collaborate with your professional time!
3. We want you to love our profession as much as we do!Determine your time priorities.
4. We don't want you to be discouraged by the amount of time it takes to do this essential work!Imagine yourself always prepared!
This week listen to your nagging older sibling-just plan the simple things as you ready yourself for your professional expectations. Get up~ get dressed~ and get eating like a professional!

  • *Getting up means sleeping at least 7 hours nightly-practice going to bed a little early (don't take on the "party while I can it is still summer" attitude. Be ready for your students; they are exhausting!
  • *Getting dressed means laying out your professional attire the night before you go into our schools (don't wait until the morning you will be rushed and make poor choices--the kids are watching everything you say~ do~ and wear).
  • *Getting breakfast means proteins~ liquids~ and thinking about a healthy life-style (don't grab food on-the-go; we need you to be healthy).
