The Best Teachers in Pop Culture & How They Exist in Every School

KSL.com has compiled a list of the best 13 teachers from pop culture, and there's certainly a faux-educator or two on the list who might remind you of one of your peers- or even yourself.

The Teacher Who Didn't Find His Passion Till Grad School

John Kimble, Kindergarten Cop, represents the teacher who didn't realize his passion until after undergraduate school. Mind you, in Kimble's case, he was forced to teach a kindergarten class while searching for a murderer-at-large and fell in love with the craft, but the same logic is applicable to a young undergraduate student studying an unrelated major who realizes teaching is his passion in graduate school experiences.

The Teacher Who Inspires All

Teaching is one of the most difficult tasks because it entails getting through to many young, budding, and unique individuals. Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World represents the educator who masters the craft and becomes a beacon of wisdom for all. Even with rambunctious and oftentimes unmotivated students like Cory and Shawn, Mr. Feeny is able to keep his students on track with tough love and a whole lot of wisdom.

The Innovative Teacher

Every school has the teacher who is always ahead of the curve when it comes to innovation and is willing to try new things in her classroom. See: Valerie Frizzle, from Ms. Frizzle's 'The Magic School Bus.' While Frizzle had a school bus that could transcend time and turn animals into natural elements, the innovative teacher figures out how to equip the busses with Wi-Fi. All in a day's work.

The Socially Involved Teacher

This kind of teacher really grasps the notion that the kids in his classroom will be the predictors of the future. He acts accordingly, teaching his kids about how to change the world similarly to Eugene Simonet from Pay it Forward. Simonet tells his kids to pay it forward and change the world, and the socially involved teacher sets out to do the same.

The Teacher Who Gives Them a Bad Name

Bueller? Uninspired and monotone economics teacher to Ferris Bueller, aptly not given a name due to his lack of a presence, is the kind of teacher that gives educators a bad name. Not concerned about captivating his students' interest or inspiring them to learn, there's certainly no room for teachers like Bueller's economics teacher in the realm of education.
