REVIEW:
This site, like many introduction-to-the-Internet sites, attempts to dispel some of the mystery surrounding the World Wide Web and the Internet. This site, however, comes from the American Library Association -- and they know how to locate information! The targeted audience of this site is parents and kids but anyone can learn something here. The site takes a librarians' approach and uses selecting, organizing and categorizing skills to organize cyberspace. Library analogies are used to explain how the Internet is set up; and the site uses as many examples as possible to illustrate
ideas. The focus of the site is to have parents become comfortable with the Internet and to spend time with their children in cyberspace to make sure they are familiar with safe surfing and netiquette. The site is well-organized and has a lot of good tips and explanations for parents (and teachers as well) cautiously new to the Web.
