The Roaring Twenties
http://users.nbn.net/~jgensemer/history.html

A CONTENT:
A class project showcasing student reports on topics from the 1920's in America. Students were told to write their stories as newspaper reporters living during that time.

B AESTHETICS:
The site is presented in a pseudo-newspaper format combining text passages and photos or graphic images.

B ORGANIZATION:
The site has been divided into "departments" such as news of the times, sports and lifestyle. All the stories are on the main page and can be accessed by scrolling or using the jump links at the top of the page.

REVIEW:
This page was created as a class project by a high school American culture class in Pennsylvania. The site is set up as a newspaper of the articles written by the students. The sections of the paper are "News" with stories about scandals, Prohibition and Charles Lindbergh; "Business" with articles about Henry Ford and automobiles; "Editorials" on Evolution and Suffrage; boxing stories in the "Sports" section; "Lifestyles" stories about Flappers, automobiles and consumerism; and, "Entertainment" topics such as Jazz. In addition to the stories the site also has many links to outside pages with information on the era. This would be a great site for history teachers but also for English teachers looking for a journalism lesson or for a teacher of any subject that would like to try a similar experiment of a "newspaper" website based on a subject, topic or theme.
