REVIEW
This is a rich resource for literacy development and lifelong learning. Content is arranged into four major sections: teach, learn, manage, and volunteer. The teach section offers almost fifty free online courses to guide educators, program managers, students, and volunteers in the best literacy instruction and lifelong learning habits. Users can search through the courses by choosing the audience or browsing the course catalog and can see a brief description of the course before they enroll online. Included here are activities, visual aids, and strategies for teaching ESL students, as well as podcasts and interactive teaching tools. The learn section for adult learners and parents includes tips for helping adults and children learn to read and succeed in school, including fun ways to support reading at home, online activities for adult learners, and how to help your child reach key reading milestones. The manage and volunteer sections offer resources for community agencies and self-paced courses for volunteers, as well as fact sheets about literacy needs and gaps across the life span. Additionally, teachers can find lesson plans, interactive activities, and other online resources to enhance their classroom instruction by using the search tool on the right side of the page. They can use that tool to search by keyword, subject, resource type, or content partner.
