SpaceChem

What is it?  SpaceChem is a design-based puzzle game that lets kids build machines and fight monsters in the name of science.

How does it work? Students take on the role of a Reactor Engineer working for SpaceChem, the leading chemical synthesizer for frontier colonies. They must construct elaborate factories to transform raw materials into valuable chemical products. They have to streamline their designs to meet production quotas and survive encounters with the sinister threats that plague SpaceChem..Apple TV

How hard is it to use? The game is simple to use. The download process is very straightforward, and the controls are easy to handle.

How well does it work? A fun game with educational value, SpaceChem certainly works as advertised. There are no software bugs to speak of, making it an activity teachers can feel good about using as a classroom reward.

How do I use it in the classroom? For those who need to fill a few extra minutes but don’t want to simply cut the kids loose, SpaceChem is worth a look.
