Site URL: ReachEveryChild.com
Content: This is a classroom resource/Web site recommendation site from Horace Mann, an insurance and financial planning firm whose namesake was an early education pioneer.
Design: ReachEveryChild lacks any real design, imagery or theme, giving it an outdated look. The only real navigation tool is a small box on the left side of the page.
Review: Design shortcomings notwithstanding, ReachEveryChild does have some content that can be of real use to teachers. Not every lesson plan on the site is a home run, but there are more than a few worthy of classroom use. Likewise, many of the site’s Web recommendations represent little-known yet high-quality resources.
While the site categorizes both lesson plans and Web recommendations by academic subject, information on the grade level of these materials is lacking.
Bottom Line: For users willing to navigate a less-than-ideal design, there are some good resources here.
