Site URL: EdTechTeacher.com
Content: Aimed squarely at school administrators, EdTechTeacher works with districts and schools of all sizes to leverage new technologies that support student learning.
Design: This site comes off as very corporate. The main pages feature images of posed people in business suits, and the text takes a while to get to the point. Once past the promotional copy, however, the site lightens up and becomes more fun to navigate. Resource pages are more dynamic and much easier to follow.
Review: The site does a good job of promoting EdTechTeacher’s large-scale professional development opportunities. Here, educators can learn about the various conferences, workshops and other paid PD offerings. With programs in dozens of cities across the United States, there is likely something going on near you, and this site will provide all the relevant information you need to participate.
Apart from its self-promotion, EdTechTeacher acts as a sort of clearinghouse. The content directs users to other sites that provide excellent tips and best practices for implementing tech in the classroom. These pages are not simply long lists of links; they are put together in a way that allows users to focus on a particular area and get quality help that would otherwise take hours to find.
Bottom Line: Administrators seeking next-level tech PD will find something useful here, as will classroom teachers looking for tech tips.
