This week marks the five-year anniversary of Apple's App Store, and it appears that the event is sparking a sale. While Apple has been mum on the topic, several extrememly popular apps have seen their prices cut all the way down to free.
Because there appears to be no rhyme or reason behind the cuts, it can't be said that the anniversary has anything to do with them. That said, it can't be ignored that some apps priced as high as $19.99 last week are now being given away. Users of Apple products are keeping a close eye on the App Store, in hopes that an app they've had their eye on suddenly becomes a "gimme."
