Imagine Paperless School Recommendation Letters

Schoolrecs.com, the K-12 education market's fully Web-based online recommendation service, launched its enhanced version 2.0 this week. The updated version builds on the existing Schoolrecs platform that fits with any admissions office, regardless of the database or application form used, to introduce new features such as export capabilities, document upload and integration with the infosnap Admission Tracker, a Web-based tool to allow admissions offices to communicate application status to applicants. These features continue to move clients closer to the paperless admissions office.

"An important new feature," said Amy Holland, Director of Schoolrecs.com, "is support for common recommendation forms used by many school associations, Diocese and consortiums. Our support for common recommendations is consistent with Schoolrecs' mission to make the recommendation process easier and more efficient for applicants, teachers and admissions offices."

Holland noted that "Schoolrecs is not simply a recommendation form moved online that is emailed from applicant to teacher to school. Our service is built around a secure, online recommendation workspace that allows all participants to manage the recommendations and provides due date reminders and peace of mind notifications when recommendations have been completed."

Applicants and teachers are enthusiastic about their Schoolrecs experience. "Schoolrecs.com saves time for teachers and parents. It's easy, affordable, and no chasing a teacher down for a letter," said Barb W., a parent of an applicant to Notre Dame High School.

Jamie Seibert, a teacher from Honey Creek Middle School in Terre Haute, Indiana, shared, "Using Schoolrecs.com for my online recommendations was by far the easiest method I've used; it was user-friendly and provided a very convenient way to share my thoughts about the student."
