Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, VA, is out thousands of dollars after a parent made off with a booster club's money. Sadly, there are numerous cases of this happening across the country, Today.com reported.
Kimberly Compitelllo, a parent and treasurer of one of the booster clubs at Oscar Smith, stole nearly $14,000 dollars behind the backs of band members who worked hard raising the funds for their club, according to Today.com.
"She was just another mom you know," said Jason Berkley, a band member and senior at Oscar Smith high school. "Like when you were there, she would always help you with everything you needed there at band."
The stolen money left kids without scholarships, uniforms and funds to fix broken instruments, Today.com reported.
