In Texas, a mother is livid over a school ban on sunscreen that led to her daughter suffering a severe sunburn while on a school field trip, reported Fox News.
"The reality is: Children don't eat sunscreen and they're not going to," said Christy Riggs, a parent in San Antonio.
The North East Independent School District is treating sunscreen as medicine out of fear that it could be a serious hazard to students.
"We don't want students sharing sunscreen," Aubrey Chancellor, a San Antonio school district spokeswoman, told Fox News. "If students get it in their eyes or react badly to the sunscreen, it can be quite serious."
