Public schools achieve the same or better results in mathematics as private schools with students of the same demographic. So says a new book, The Public School Advantage: Why Public Schools Outperform Private Schools, as noted Education Week.
"After accounting for socioeconomic status, race and other demographic differences among students, the researchers found that public school math achievement equaled or outstripped math achievement at every type of private school in grades 4 and 8 on NAEP," the article said.
