Predictive Analytics (PA) are increasingly used by school districts to gauge the likelihood of key student outcomes, according to TheJournal.com.
For example, school districts use PA to build early-warning indicators based on students' attendance, course failure and behavior in order to predict dropout, on-time graduation, and college and career readiness.
"Predictive models are mostly regression-based analyses conducted to examine which student-classroom and/or school-based indicators empirically predict student outcomes," the article said.
