A school in Gary, Indiana, may be renamed after the world-famous late pop star.
According to Post-Tribune, the school board is now discussing which school will be named after Michael Jackson, "Gary's most famous native son." It hasn't been determined which school will be named after Jackson, but the front-runner is Roosevelt High School.
The Jackson family is helping to select the school building.
"A close relationship with the Jackson family to improve the quality of programs for the Gary Community School Corp. can mean tremendous gains for the school district and the city as a whole," said Gary Community School Corp. Superintendent Cheryl Pruitt.
